18 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported In Grey Bruce Thursday

Public Health Grey Bruce reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday: Six residents of Blue Mountains..., four in Owen Sound, three in Huron Kinloss and one each in West Grey, South Bruce Peninsula, Kincardine, Hanover and Arran Elderslie....there are 72 active cases in the region including 18 variants... and 352 high-risk contacts....
One person is hospitalized locally due to the virus....36,028 total doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Grey and Bruce to date....

Elected municipal officials react to surprise and sadness to Mayor’s resignation

Reaction is coming in after news of the resignation of Kincardine Mayor Anne Eadie. Eadie announced at Wednesday’s Council meeting that she was stepping down as Mayor after Friday. Deputy Mayor Randy Roppel says everyone on Council, including him, did not see this coming.... Eadie did not give a reason as to why she resigned as Mayor....

Public Health Says Grey Bruce Set National Vaccine Record Wednesday

In a release, the Health Unit says it administered 3,498 vaccines at the Hockey Hub mass immunization system in Hanover Wednesday. The Health Unit says, “To our knowledge, this is the largest volume single-day mass immunization event in Canada.” On average, the Hockey Hub mass immunization system vaccinated 350 people per hour...
