| Town & First Nation Developing Plans For Sauble Beach This Summer 05/05/2023 The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has released a statement about plans for Sauble Beach this summer as Saugeen First Nation takes ownership of an extended portion of the beach. A release from the town says the following: “On April 8, 2023, the Ontario Superior Court ruled in favour of Saugeen First Nation’s claim to a portion of land on Sauble Beach, north of Main Street. Although the Town has appealed the Court’s decision, the ruling stands unless the Ontario Court of Appeal sets aside the judgement. This means that the Beach from Main Street to a point in the vicinity of 7th Street North is currently owned, operated, and regulated by Saugeen First Nation...." | Bruce Power sees Substantial Completion of Construction Phase of Unit 6 MCR 05/05/2023 Bruce Power has seen the construction phase of the Major Component Replacement portion of its Unit 6 refurbishment substantially completed. They are now turning their attention to the process of returning the unit to service. Unit 6, which provides enough electricity to power a city the size of Hamilton, is on track to resume providing energy to Ontario homes & businesses later this year....
