Local CUPE workers expected at MPP Thompson’s Constituency Offices in Kincardine & Blyth Friday 11/03/2022 Regardless of provincial legislation, CUPE says it intends to go forward on the picket lines across Ontario on Friday. As locally across the Bluewater District School Board and the Bruce Grey Catholic Disctrict School Board, some schools locally will attempt to stay open during the labour unrest while others intend to close. BWDSB says if the strike happens they will be cancelling extracurricular activities. Most Licensed Childcare Operators In Grey County Opt-In To New Fee Reduction System 11/03/2022 Most licensed childcare centres in Grey County opted-in to the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Childcare system ahead of the province’s deadline on Tuesday. Grey County’s Manager of Early Learning and Childcare Tara Cockerill says in a email 90 per cent of licensed operators in Grey County have enlisted. Survey exploring local labour shortage launches in new year 11/03/2022 The Four County Labour Market Planning Board is working alongside EmployerOne to conduct a survey addressing workforce challenges and opportunities. The Planning Board says they will use information provided from the survey to build a stronger local workforce.
