In Huron-Bruce, the NDP Riding Association has announced Jan Johnstone as their candidate. Johnstone ran for the provincial New Democrats in Huron-Bruce in 2018. She’s currently vice-chair of the Bluewater District School board....

No new cases in Bruce County, more clinics operating locally

There are a number of COVID-19 vaccine clinics opening up in our region. There are two happening on Wednesday. One is at the Nuclear Innovation Institute in Port Elgin from 10 a-m until 2 p-m, the other is at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre from 4 p-m until 7 p-m. There is also a clinic taking place this Friday from 11 a-m to 3 p-m at the Southampton Coliseum. The clinics are open to anyone 12 years of age and older looking to get their first or second dose. No appointment or health card is required at this clinic.

No rush to return to in-person meetings in Saugeen Shores

Don’t expect to see the return of in-person public meetings in Saugeen Shores anytime soon. A discussion was held by Council at their Committee of the Whole meeting (on August 9th). Council and other public meetings were being conducted virtually since the start of the pandemic in March of 2020. Despite new COVID-19 cases remaining low in Grey Bruce, Mayor Luke Charbonneau says it was better to err on the side of caution....
