Grey Bruce Health Services Pauses Surgery, Limits Visitors & Testing

Grey Bruce Health Services is pausing all scheduled, non-urgent surgeries and procedures effective January 5th in order to preserve critical care and human resource capacity.... [however] all urgent and emergency surgeries and procedures will be provided, 24/7 as per usual. The hospital says, regular services are expected to resume by January 26....

School board says remote learning to begin Thursday

The Bluewater District School Board issued a statement in the wake of Monday‚Äôs announcement by the province to suspend in-person classes for another two weeks. Class was to resume on Wednesday before the Ford government pushed back the date to January 17th as part of Step Two in the reopening road map. The school board says remote learning will be offered to elementary and secondary school students starting Thursday....

Huron Warden says 2021 saw County implement broadband internet, dispersed supportive housing

Broadband internet service in rural areas is just one of the things Huron County Warden Glen McNeil is boasting in his year-end interview with Shoreline Classics FM. McNeil says the County worked with SWIFT (South Western Integrated Fibre Technology) to bring internet to thousands of homes.... McNeil says 2021 also saw the County use a dispersed model in providing supportive housing....
