Grey Bruce Labour Council issue update following Province CUPE dispute

The Grey Bruce Labour Council issued a press release today ... that says the house of labour may have witnessed acrimony in the past but Kevin Smith, Council President says that like any family, when they are faced with a common foe or attack on all workers, the Labour family comes together. He adds that the government grossly underestimated how much workers and their unions care about their rights, and to that end, how forcefully the Labour movement would ensure that it was understood the fightback within the millions of workers that in an act of courage and commitment did not and will not ever back down....

Grey Bruce Labour Council Names Activist Of The Year

The Grey Bruce Labour Council has named David McLaren as the Activist of the Year. McLaren became an employee of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation in 1990, and later moved on to running as a federal NDP candidate in 2015, but has continued his activism work even after retiring....

Conservation authority taking spring shrub and tree orders

The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority is now taking orders for tree and shrub planting in 2023. The deadline for orders is 3 p.m. on Jan. 20, 2023. There are options for do-it-yourself orders or you can also make use of the conservation staff’s planting coordination services....
