Covid: Three New Cases, Eight Resolved In Grey Bruce

The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported three new Covid cases:...two people from Owen Sound and a Chatsworth resident.... The region’s active known case load sits at 71. Five Grey Bruce residents are hospitalized locally and one other is receiving care outside the area.... Nineteen Grey Bruce residents have died from the virus over the course of the pandemic.Today, there are drop-in vaccination clinics at the P & H Centre in Hanover from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.., Kaufman’s Independent Grocer in Walkerton from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thornbury Foodland from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m....

Grey Bruce Health Services Looking At Virtual ER For Hospitals

Grey Bruce Health Services President and CEO Gary Sims says, a virtual ER could be coming to the region.... On the Open Line show on 560 CFOS July 29th, Sims explained, “Virtual care is another platform that’s just skyrocketed during the pandemic and one that we intend not to let go...." Virtual ERs are starting to appear around Ontario and in Canada, with Sudbury’s hospital system using it, Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital, and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, which was the first hospital to offer it in the province....
